Show #154 “Hatcher Pass / Hike of the Week”

June 13th, 2007 by Scott

Hike of the week takes you up to Hatcher Pass! This mountainous area is infectious with its grand vistas, and historical artifacts that remain scattered throughout the mountain ranges. Today cabins are left from the Gold Rush, which some still rest on the summit of the highest peaks to the lowest areas of the valley. The range of visitors to Hatcher Pass vary from families to professional mountaineers, it’s truly a place for everyone. Todays show we take you up one mountain.

Directions from Anchorage:
Take the Glenn Highway from Anchorage. Two miles past the city of Palmer, turn left on Palmer-Fishhook Road, which becomes the Hatcher Pass Road. The Hatcher Pass Management Area is 10 miles from downtown Palmer; Independence Mine is 18 miles from Palmer.

Get Directions from Google Maps: Click Here

Post production left us with so much good footage, we couldn’t shave off anymore giving us a 12:5 minute show. If this download was much larger than you like, feel free to send us feedback at +1 206-973-7469
